Celebrating 127 Years of Dedicated Volunteer Service 1889-2016

About Us

Northport Fire Department welcomes you to the

3rd Annual Cow Harbor PaddleFest

With great enthusiasm we would like to tell you about the 3rd Annual Cow Harbor PaddleFest scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Steers Beach in Northport, NY.  This event provides a wonderful opportunity to welcome all Long Island paddlers to experience the joy of paddling in the beautiful Northport Bay.
This exciting event will offer three options to both kayakers and stand up paddle boarders.  Option one is a six mile competitive race. Option two is a three mile competitive race.  Option three is a three mile poker paddle. There will be something for everyone from the elite racers to the family and friends cheering from the shore.  In addition to the paddling activities, there will be stand up paddle board and kayak representatives, demonstrations, vendors, music and food.
This event will be hosted by and benefit the Northport Fire Department, a volunteer organization founded in 1889 serving the Northport, Asharoken, Crab Meadow and Fort Salonga communities. Whether a resident, business owner, or a visitor to our community our goal is to take care of you. We provide a wide range of emergency and non-emergency services that range from fire suppression, water and ice rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, natural disaster response, emergency medical treatment, rescue and public fire education.  Additionally, we provide water rescue support with our boats and dive team to our neighboring waterfront communities.  Our firefighters and EMT's are the some of the best in the country and train continuously with the latest technology and emergency response operations.  However, this training comes at a price but being prepared in an emergency situation is priceless and not an option - this is why we are in need of your support.  We respond to nearly 1,200 calls annually. That is an average of three potentially life and or property threatening situations our volunteers respond, without hesitation, to best serve and protect our communities.
We are anticipating this event to be extremely well attended as there is currently no other quite like it and SUP is growing at a rapid rate. If you have any questions or would like more information regarding this event, please email info@cowharborpaddlefest.org. Thank you in advance for your support of the 3rd Annual Cow Harbor PaddleFest.

Register today to show your support of the Long Island paddle community and volunteer first responders!
